Doggie Paddle

Yesterday morning my mom (Erin) was all excited.  She pulled out a little blue swim suit and Cambria-baby's lime green track suit.  I hung around long enough to figure out that the little one was going to her very first swim class.  Now...the reason I was confused at first was because it was 27 degrees outside.  Who wants to go swimming when it is that cold.  As I stayed comfortably nestled in my parent's bed I also learned that I was not going to be the first to teach Cambria to doggie paddle.  Some retired lady from the University of Toledo was going to do the honors.
Now fast forward two hours.
I hear my mom come in talking about how Cambria is truly a fish and Cambria went under the water and Cambria kicked her feet..blah...blah...blah.  But when I see Cambria-baby snuggled in her car seat after her first swim lesson she is SOUND asleep.  I guess she didn't realize that doggie paddling takes so much out of you.

Our Lil' Pumpkin

This past weekend I got left at home while my parents and the lil' pumpkin headed to Michigan to a real pumpkin farm. During their travels, they hit a little historic town called Dundee. Cambria-Baby wore her pumpkin hat to the pumpkin patch. The farm owner thought she was so cute that she got a free pumpkin. Enjoy a few pics from our...I mean their travels (I got left at home to bark at the Old Orchard livestock- a.k.a squirrels).

My So-Called Friend Michael

Howdy! Well, no squirrel yet but they are definitely getting slower. However, it is starting to get so cold outside that I have reserved my squirrel chasing to just a few outings a day. Good news is...my friend Michael came to visit me the other night. My mom made pumpkin enchiladas that turned out to be dry and overcooked but she did make an attempt. Back to my friend Michael. So anyway, my friend Michael used to come over and snuggle on me and treat me with a LOT of TLC....but...this time it was all Cambria-Baby. I think my friend Michael is now going to be my so called "friend" Michael.

Fall in Ohio

While all of you Californians are enjoying the warm sunny days by the beach, I am enjoying the ever cooler not-so-sunny days in Ohio watching a bizillion squirrels gorge themselves on acorns.  I hear they become easier and easier to catch since they are filling themselves up for the winter.  My buddies are definitely getting plumper by the day.  Hopefully by my next post...I will be able to write to you that I FINALLY caught one.  Keep your fingers crossed.  Enjoy the pics of the beautiful Ohio fall (these are from our neighborhood).   Cambria is learning very early how to rake leaves.

Cereal, Anyone?

Last week Cambria-baby went to the doctor for her 5-month check-up.  Besides getting a bunch of shots, the doc told her that she was ready to start rice cereal.  Now, this is good news for a weenie-dog.  First, there is cereal...then veggies and fruits...and then...real people-food that ends up on the floor AND in my MOUTH.  However, the little one doesn't exactly love the cereal...yet.  She prefers her milk.  I need to convince her that solid food is the best.  Any suggestions?

Lounge Lizard

Ok, I am not the lounge lizard...Cambria is.  She has a little bit of a cold (thanks to her most recent visit to the doctor to get her shots) so she has been lounging around in her sock monkey jammies.  I thought I would take care of her while she is feeling under the weather.  I think my mom appreciates my assistance.

Recent Visitor

Over the last week, we have been very busy.  We had Granddad Locke here visiting Cambria-baby...and giving me a snuggle or two as well.  It is always nice to have visitors...that means I get a little attention.

GO Rockets!

This last weekend was REALLY fun!  We went to our very first Ohio parade.  You see, at our new house we are only a few blocks from the University of Toledo.  This past Saturday was UT's homecoming and there is a parade to celebrate prior to the football game.  The homecoming parade marches down the street directly behind our house...so....we went to experience all of the floats, local politicians, old cars, the marching band and cheerleaders, etc.  The best part of the parade...all of the candy that was thrown to all of the kids watching AND Cambria's new pumpkin hat.  She was the hit of the parade.
Thanks Auntie Nancy for such a cool hat!

Lobster Love

Cambria-baby is getting bigger and bigger.  Her new "thing" is to love on everything she has.  She gives mom and dad hugs.  She also gives her toys hugs.  She has a rockin' lobster that she loves to love.  I would love that lobster too...every last bit of stuffing if I could get my teeth on it.

Meet Alvin

I have REALLY big news.  This past week, I finally met Alvin...the chipmunk.  I have been taunted by a family of raccoons (five to be exact), about a bizillion squirrels and Alvin the chipmunk.  Alvin was so brazen that he sat in the windowsill and stared at Harley for a whole hour.  Harley doesn't realize that you can't eat a chipmunk through dual-paned windows.  Later that afternoon...Alvin and I met face to face. Unfortunately, Alvin is no longer with us.  The kid who mows our lawn found Alvin...after our little meeting.  He is now safely buried in the Toledo dump.  R.I.P Alvin.
