Macadamia Nuts & Shoyu Chicken

Hey. Frank here. I have been throughly enjoying my summer on the back deck in the sun. For some reason, the sun in SoCal seems so much more relaxing than in Toledo. Do you think it is because it is not accompanied by mosquitos and 90% humidity? Anyway, about a week ago, Harley and I were left (again) to our own devices. We had the pleasure of having some kid-free time and had the chance to hang out with Amelia and Auntie Nancy. For once, I feel like someone was actually here to see me. I found out later that the reason I had visitors is because my 'rents packed up the little people and headed to the land of macadamia nuts and shoyu chicken (aka Maui). Everyone came back relaxed and a little more tan (one shade darker than transparent for my mom, Erin).

Why We Live In SoCal!

It's no surprise that I LOVE being back in Southern California. I have finally reclaimed my sun spot on the back deck laying on my back with my feet in the air. I think the little ones like it too. I keep hearing my mom say how much she missed the beach...she feels like a tourist in her own backyard. Well, mom...I have news for you...you can enjoy the beach and Cambria can enjoy playing at the park, all-in-one. That's why we live in SoCal!

The Quietest Member of Our Family

Bella-Boo, Bella-Boo how are you? I hear this over and over from the fast talking Peanut Fish (aka Cambria). However, I never really hear much of a response. You see, Bella-Boo is SO quiet. She is definitely the most quiet member of our family. I think she is taking after me (yeah right). She loves her hands (I love my paws) and she loves to stare at and plot the capture of little furry "winnie the pooh" creatures (one of my favorite past-times as well).

Paddy Cake, Paddy Cake...

Serenity now! This weenie dog has had it up to my two large ears with a singing two year old. You see, Cambria sings ALL the time these days. Even when she is in trouble and sitting in time out. Her favorite song is "Paddy Cake, Paddy Cake". She uses her little sister's feet to do the hand motions. Anyone interested in allowing a weenie dog a short stay at their home? Martin, Leo...? Anyone?

It's Garden Time!

Howdy folks! I am so excited to announce that we finally have ourselves a garden. What is even better, it is at weenie dog level. Once those plants start producing, I will have a 24-hr Snack Shack at my disposal. Thanks to our Ohio pal Jackie, Cambria was all ready to help plant some tomatoes (heirloom of course), watermelon, 3 types of peppers, some spaghetti squash, pumpkin and an box devoted entirely to herbs. We asked cousin Reyn and Rowan to come over and help with the planting. I am sure they will share in the harvest, too (as long as I don't get there first)!

Ba-Berries

Well, the kid is finally two. I mean the first kid, Cambria. The second kid, Bella, is two months old and likes to cry. As for Cambria, when we got back to my wonderful sun spot in California, we celebrated Cambria's b-day by going to pick strawberries. However, I didn't get to go....and at first...I didn't know that the fam actually went to pick strawberries because Cambria was running around the house asking for "ba-berries". Now, I know...if this dog wants a nice, juicy strawberries...all I have to do is follow the little peanut when she is squealing "ba-berry" at the top of her lungs.

I'm Goin' Back to Cali...Goin' Back to Cali

Hey Folks!
I know, I know...it has been over a month since the last time I checked in with everyone. I have so much to share that I am not exactly sure where to start. So, here goes...
It took me quite some time to get back to bloggin because I had a little bit of an elbow injury. Right after Cambria's 2nd birthday, I was extra jealous and climbed up on the dining room table. When my dad, Dave found me on the table, I jumped off and howled as loud as I possibly could. A few x-rays and some really good pills wrapped in cheese and I am healed. I just bruised my elbow (who knew weenie dogs had elbows). A few days after that, the big truck arrived at our house in Ohio with a very nice guy named Jim. What I didn't realize at the time was that all of our furniture, including my very favorite pillow were being packed up and we were heading out. After my pillow departed, a nice guy named John came and picked up Harley and me. We had to sit in the car for several days but he bought me a lot of chewie bones...that's more than my mom, Erin does these days.

AND THEN...we arrived back in California...back in my house with the nice sun spot in the living room and a back deck where the sun shines all of the time. There was no rain, no mosquitos, no snow and no squirrels. Just warm sunshine or as Cambria says "shun-shine". I wish I had known earlier that I was goin' back to Cali...maybe I would not have gotten on that dang table.

Hi Baby, My Baby!

Well, it's been nearly one month since the new baby came home. Life has not changed much except that I get disturbed in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep. Doesn't this kid know that a weenie dog needs his beauty sleep? The funniest thing about the new little Bella is how engaged Cambria is with her. I think the kid has finally figured out that Bella is real and not a dolly. I thought my mom was going to pass out when Cambria tried to put Bella in her dolly stroller. The kid calls Bella, "Hi Baby, My Baby". Just a few months to go and then the new little one will be throwing food at me. WhooHoo Hi Baby, My Baby!

Introducing...Noise Box #2

Wow...it has been quite a week at my house. You see, I thought life was bad enough (except for the occasional food dropping or two) with Cambria running around. I went from top dog to second best. But now, I am not second best but third in line due to the recent addition of a new noise box to our family. Last Wednesday (April 14th) a new little person named Bella joined our family. Grammie Carol came out for a visit (I thought to see me of course) and the next thing I know, there is a new baby hangin' in my space. The good news, I will get even more food in a few months but I also have to share my mom, Erin. She already forgets about me most of the time...now I will have to be especially naughty to get her attention. Maybe Cambria and I will join forces to get Erin's attention away from the not so noisy little noise box #2.

Welcome to the world Bella Elizabeth Fish!

Eggs...Delicious Chicken Eggs!

Well...hello. It would appear we have an abundance of stinky but delicious "hard boiled" chicken eggs available. Since Cambria doesn't much care for them, she tends to throw them on the floor. That's where I come in. I also have taken to urinating on her chair just to remind everyone who is important in the house. Check out the pics from yesterday's easter egg hunt. Today I scored some of those M&Ms from this kid (she's so clumsy). Easter has been good to Frank

Bunny Cookies

A few weeks ago, Erin, Dave and Cambria headed out to Pennsylvania to say one last goodbye to the house in Benton with all the yummy wildlife. While they were there, Cambria got treats that of course...I didn't get. Grandpa Roger snuck the kid a bunny cookie which she didn't even wait to share. Grandpa Roger, you think you can share bunny cookies with me in the future?

Noodle Nelly

Howdy Folks!
The sun is finally shining and I am slowly loosing my winter weight. I apologize for taking so long to post....life has been busy but not that interesting lately. Well, with the exception of Cambria's fascination with pasta. I think I can officially say that it is her FAVORITE food. That is good news for this dog because it is messy and tends to end up on the floor or in my mouth. Check-put the carb-loading noodle nelly (a.k.a Cambria).

Snow Bunny

p style="visibility:visible;">

Happy February friends!
To kick-off February, Mother Nature brought us a little snow and believe it or not, some sun. My parents decided to take advantage of both of them and take the little C to the local metropark to go sledding and hiking through the snow. I, on the other hand, have spent the last few days admiring the deceiving sun from my pillow next to the heat vent. I will wait until it turns about 55 degrees before I venture out for any long period of time. I am definitely not a snow bunny.

Winter Entertainment

Helloooo!
It is been quite some time since I have been able to update my blog without little Cambria barging in. While she was out in Cali having warm southern California adventures, I got stuck back in Ohio to watch the pond freeze and snow fall. I have taken to spending my days on my pillow that is strategically placed by the heat vent. It helps me dream of the warm days I spent on the back deck in Torrance.

Anyway, you are probably wondering what we are doing to keep ourselves entertained when it is so cold outside? Well, Cambria and Harley and I are causing quite a bit of trouble. First, Cambria is taking to wearing everyones' shoes around the house. She typically holds on to Harley to steady herself. Next, my mom pulled out some nifty water dish that she calls a water table to entertain the little C in the kitchen. I just bug Cambria by drinking the water out from under her boats and toys.

Hoping that this weekend's entertainment does not include snow...even though I hear it's in the forecast.

A True Fish

So...I have taken over Frank's blog for a few posts and I promised him that after today, I would give him his authoring rights back. I told him that I had one final story to tell and then his blog is back in his control.

One thing I learned recently is how much I love the ocean. You see, my parents love the ocean and I think I am taking after them. The difference, they don't run into crashing waves with all of their clothes on...just I do. I think I am a true FISH.

Christmas in Cali

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I have taken over Frank's blog for a few. He had to stay back in Ohio over Christmas while I got the chance to travel out to California for a couple weeks to enjoy some sun, sand, waves and lots of friends and family for the holiday. My Christmas in Cali was action packed with lots of fun. For Christmas eve, I got to go to The Grove and Santa Monica Farmer's Market to have breakfast with my mom's cousin and her family and my Auntie Jen and cousin's Reynie and Rowan. I also got the chance to have Christmas eve with my cousins and my new friend Liam. On Christmas Day, I got to hang at Grammie B's house to open presents with everyone including Amelia and Auntie Nancy...whew...to top it all off...I got to spend Christmas evening at Auntie Juliet's house with Liam. Boy...so much celebrating and so little time. Nothin' like Christmas in Cali.

Workin' Girl

So...while I was out in California for Christmas vacation, my dad had to drop into the office a couple times to get some work done. After I had lunch with my LOBOS buddies, I decided to drop-in on my dad (Dave) to help him quickly wrap up his conference calls and emails. Gary...I think I am ready for project management. Cheers from this lil' workin' girl. :)
